Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. Her reporting on the streets of Charleston on police leniency towards DUI cases led to an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before she joined Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. O'Dell anchors the main newscast at Access Hollywood. In addition she has contributed for NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. The anchor has hosted a number of Pre-ShowArrivals programs to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
